You've committed to doing things differently.

No punishments. No rewards charts. No artificial consequences.

You're choosing connection over control.

And some days? It works beautifully.

But then there are the other days.

When despite all your conscious choices and gentle words...

Your child is still:

Struggling with overwhelming emotions

Showing aggression towards themselves or others

Reacting intensely to simple transitions

Battling anxiety that seems to grow, not fade

Finding everyday moments increasingly challenging

And that pit in your stomach keeps whispering that something's missing.

You've read the books.

You know the scripts.

You understand the theory.

But in those real, raw moments when your child is having a hard time, something isn't clicking. And you're starting to wonder:

Is respectful parenting not working for us?

Am I doing something wrong?

Why isn't this creating the change my child needs?

That nagging feeling that something's missing?

It's not telling you to abandon your values.

It's not telling you to resort to punishments or rewards.

It's actually inviting you to go deeper.

This is exactly why I created The KIND Collective: the place to bridge the gap between understanding respectful parenting and living it.

This is what the parents inside have to say...

I want this for my family too

Hi! I'm Ashleigh...

I'm a registered Family Psychologist with over a decade of experience serving families all around the world.

And despite all my knowledge, I too, faced a season where I was parenting a kid who was having a really hard time. I searched and searched for answers but kept coming up with the same suggestions - you just need to be more regulated! Try special time!

I was frustrated and exhausted and felt like absolutely no one could help. This is when I came across Dr Gordon Neufeld's concept of a stuck child.

Despite all my emotionally aware parenting, I was parenting a stuck kid who was not expressing his emotions in the way that was needed.

I have since dedicated thousands of hours to understanding why some kids get off their developmental track and exactly how to get them back on.

And this is what this space is about.

Getting stuck kids back on track with the simple but foundational practices of deep connection, emotional attunement, family healing, self compassion and play.

More from the families on the inside...
